My story
As a student children's nurse, learning about types of diabetes increased my awareness about struggles that diabetic patients endure. I am doing Swim22 2026 to help fundraise for diabetes research, to hopefully alleviate these struggles.
I am an intermediate swimmer who wants to use this skill for a better quality of life for people with diabetes by swimming 11 miles!
Please give me the opportunity by hitting the donate button on my profile page which will directly go towards Diabetes UK charity.
2 Corinthians 8:12 - If you are eager to give, God will accept your gift on the basis of what you have to give, not on what you don't have.
Every little helps.
⚠️I have set the fundraising target to £708 to meet the 708 POOL lengths I swam. Because the Swim22 challenge ends June 22nd, you can view my journey and donations are still welcome.
There were anonymous donors so I just wanted to let you know that if you already have or are yet to donate, these are the impacts you will make:
- Your investment could help pay for rounds of genetic analysis to help researchers identify
how genes can influence our risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
- Your contribution has/will go towards raising money for things like counsellors for the Helpline, who provide a listening ear to people affected by diabetes.
- Your donation could help pay for specialist training enabling more researchers to utilise artificial intelligence to examine images of the pancreas, and gain better understanding of the root causes of type 1 diabetes.
- Your funds could be helping scientists researching diabetes on new research projects like lifesaving studies about new ways to help people put type 2 diabetes into
remission.
Thank you so much and God bless 💓
Thank you:)
