My story
I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in 2014, and I have benefited from some of the cutting edge treatments that have been available thanks to the Welsh NHS.
almost all the women in my family (both sides) have diabetes, and it was a question of when, not if, I developed it.
I loved swimming at school, and started to swim again when I moved to Manchester last summer. I'm undertaking this challenge because I want to do something for everyone with diabetes, so they get the support they need. But it's also personal, a chance to prove to myself that I can swim that far.
